I have seen a few people in GhanaThink’s Konnect groups ask about tourist attractions in Accra . There are some usual suggestions like the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum , the Jamestown area (Lighthouse, Prisons, etc), the Arts Centre, Independence Arch & Black Star Square , etc. 1 place many hardly ever mention is the National Museum of Ghana . I had a few events on March 6, 2026 - #GhanaDay . I decided to spend the rest of the time on Ghana’s 69th birthday visiting the National Museum of Ghana. When I got there, a tour was ongoing for a few people, including some African-Americans. During the tour, the guide there called Fugu “Northern Kente”. This is something I have been discussing with a number of people in recent times, especially 1 of the groups for the great people who have mentored at Barcamps in Ghana . I arrived in Nairobi yesterday morning. It's my 4th time being here. As always when I visit an African country, I try to be observant and learn different things. Here are a few thoughts below and some concluding thoughts. Kenya does a good job on tourism. But then again, with all the Lion King memories and the safaris, it shouldn't be that difficult. I do love how much Safaricom does to support Kenya too. At the Jomo Kenyatta Airport, there are several boards teaching visitors how to say popular phrases in Swahili. That is such a good move! On Sunday evening, a number of Facebook friends asked their friends to turn to CBS and watch the second episode of Amazing Race (TAR17) taking place in Ghana. I thought it was cool but I didn't really bother watching the show. I don't own a television or watch TV anyway. A couple of friends who watched the episode seemed proud of Ghana and even homesick by the images. So today, when I was doing my 'once in awhile check-up on Ghanaweb news' and found video links to the Amazing Race Ghana episode, I had to watch. And I am really glad I did . After waking up to a bright sunny day in Eastnor Castle in the UK, our amazing racers are told their next stop will be Accra, Ghana. Yay! They leave London with about $137.
