Another Barcamp Cape Coast chapter starts with #bccapecoast 2015

This year, we shall have our 5th +Barcamp Cape Coast. It's been great to see what has emerged out of Barcamps in Cape Coast these 5 years. There are startups like +Ahonya.com which now has the +Ahonyabid product. There's the inspiration for +Tech Needs Girls Gh by +regina agyare. But I especially love the growth of people like +kofi yeboah +Kobe Subramaniam +William Osilaja Boampong and +francis kumadoh. The first two are joined by +Rachel Hormeku (also from #Bccapecoast), +Senam Aseye Bridget and +Leonard Hagan to lead the +Barcamp Ghana program in Ghana. With this next theme around 'Equipping the Youth to plan their future today', we at the +GhanaThink Foundation are on course to do more.

Barcamp Cape Coast 2015 is on September 12th at the University of Cape Coast. The organizing team is made up of +Papa Baffoe Aikins +Mantey Joshua +Wilson Seyram Ameamu +sampson oboh +Ansaba Amoah +Kwesi Quagraine and some other volunteers. I'm excited for this event, as always. Especially because I get to be in Elmina, my hometown. Join us there to learn, share and network. Barcamp Cape Coast 2015 is a free networking forum bringing people together for a day of discussion, demos and dialogue on Cape Coast, Ghana and beyond. It will take place on September 12, 2015 at the Faculty of Education Lecture Theatre 9 at the University of Cape Coast. The theme for this year is Equipping the youth to plan their future today. This event will be the 5th BarCamp in Cape Coast as it builds a network of young change makers, doers and entrepreneurs in Ghana. The GhanaThink Foundation has successfully organized 47 BarCamps in Ghana.

This forum will focus on information sharing to enable participants plan their future better. Time-tested teachings along with transcendent trends will be highlighted and discussed in order to help set the paths of youths right. Cape Coast has been a major town for education in Ghana and various stakeholders will be participating in Barcamp Cape Coast.
The Barcamp will feature multiple user-generated breakout sessions about business, social entrepreneurship, technology and development, alongside topics relevant to the Central Region and beyond. There will be a speed mentoringsession where mentors will give insights and answers to questions from attendees. Introducing REACH-Ghana on the occasion of World AIDS day

I was notified about the website for REACH-Ghana today and I must say I am impressed with how far this organization has come in the last 4 months following BarCamp Diaspora at JHU-SAIS in Washington, DC. A few young passionate Ghanaians with interest in the health sector came together after a healthcare breakout session during July's BarCamp Diaspora and started investigating how they could contribute to Ghana's health sector. Their enthusiasm has given birth to Representatives for Equal Access to Community Health-care (Ghana). I love the use of the Adinkra symbol in the REACH logo. After my previous experience with Kasahorow, Museke & GhanaThink, I am a big fan of incorporating Ghanaian symbols in every way. REACH's logo uses the Adinkra symbol "Boa Me Na Menboa Wo" (Help me to help you), which represents cooperation, interdependence and community. Learnt how to say "Happy birthday" in 13 African languages

Today is my birthday. For all of you who've been wishing me Happy Birthday, I will like to say Thank you in these 23+ African languages and in these 16+ non-African languages . I asked my friends for how to say Happy Birthday in African languages. Some exist. Now you can wish birthday celebrants in an African language. With some help from  my African friends , we have a list to work with. I wish I could get to 30 but I've tried ahh.  Akan: Mema wo awoda pa. Mema wo awoda mu anigye.    You have another version?
