This year, we shall have our 5th  +Barcamp Cape Coast . It's been great to see what has emerged out of Barcamps in Cape Coast these 5 years. There are startups like  +Ahonya.com  which now has the  +Ahonyabid  product. There's the inspiration for  +Tech Needs Girls Gh  by  +regina agyare . But I especially love the growth of people like  +kofi yeboah   +Kobe Subramaniam   +William Osilaja Boampong  and  +francis kumadoh . The first two are joined by +Rachel Hormeku  (also from #Bccapecoast),  +Senam Aseye Bridget  and  +Leonard Hagan  to lead the  +Barcamp Ghana  program in Ghana. With this next theme around 'Equipping the Youth to plan their future today', we at the  +GhanaThink Foundation  are on course to do more. Barcamp Cape Coast 2015 is on September 12th at the University of Cape Coast. The organizing team is made up of  +Papa Baffoe Aikins   +Mantey Joshu...

Tomorrow, I will be in Cape Coast for the 4th  +Barcamp Cape Coast . In 2010,  +Kobe Subramaniam  attended  +Barcamp Takoradi . He was so inspired and motivated by the event that he led a team to organize the first Barcamp Cape Coast in November 2011. Since then, Barcamp Cape Coast has been a fixture where it happens a week after the Fetu Afahye festival in Oguaa - the local name for Cape Coast. Kobe's been supported by the likes of  +kofi yeboah  who he's on the  +Barcamp Ghana  team with. This includes +Rachel Hormeku  who attended multiple Barcamps last year and is growing into more responsibility. Other leaders that have arisen out of this 4 year growth include  +Papa Baffoe Aikins   +Kwesi Quagraine  and  +William Osilaja Boampong  who is now part of the +GhanaThink Foundation 's  +Ghana Volunteer Program  team. The theme here is growth but one important theme is also that of branding. That's wh...

Building a partnership with the second Junior Camp Augusco

Image
There have been 2 Junior Camps at St. Augustine's College and I haven't been to any of them. I will make sure to go the next one. Funny thing is, if we allow  +Wilson Seyram Ameamu  and his Augusco boys, they will have a Junior Camp every single term. I couldn't attend JCAugusco on June 14th because I was in Ho attending the funeral of the late Eli Aidam, a  +GhanaThink Foundation  member who helped start  +Barcamp Ho . Thankfully, the  +Junior Camp Ghana  (JCG) program is in able hands, and its team members  +Nathaniel Alpha ,  +Eunice Mintah Young  and  +francis kumadoh  are able to hold the events down pat. The second JCAugusco was a success, with the support of the  +Barcamp Cape Coast  team. This was the 6th Junior Camp following that on  January 30, 2013  at  +Keta Senior High Technical School , on  July 13, 2013  at Kalpohin Senior High School, the first #JCAugusco on   J...
