Building Entreprising Communities & Creating Wealth - #AfricaDay2021

Image
It is clear I write blog posts when inspired. Today was one of those days . Funny enough, earlier today, I had thought about what am I doing for Africa Day . You know the one that was made a holiday in Ghana within 201 and then was removed as a statutory holiday in 2017? The day on which the Organization of African Unity was formed, even as the OAU is now known as the AU ( African Union ). A day synonymous with Africa's Man of the 20th Century, Kwame Nkrumah. Yes, the guy I like to write to letters to (Letta to Osagyefo) . Anyway, Kwame Nkrumah is also famous for leading the formation of Tema, affectionately known as Ghana's Industrial City. On this Africa Day 2021, I shared about " Building Entreprising Communities & Creating Wealth " at the Rotary Club of Tema 's virtual meeting, inspired by the theme for Barcamp Tema 2019 .  Here is a summary of what I shared. I started by saying  " Happy Africa Day o !" with Diaspora Camp also in mind. I talke...

The bittersweet story of my top tweet on #6thMarch

Image
Today, 6th March, is Ghana's 54th birthday and independence day for all Ghanaians. So a lot of Ghanaians and lovers of Ghana on Twitter have been hoping for Ghana to trend on the social network and on Google Trends. This hasn't happened and we could sit here and debate why that hasn't happened. Funnily enough, I got something of 'mine' to trend and unfortunately, it's not even about Ghana. It's about the Manchester United game that was played today. Ghanaians love football (soccer) and many love the English Premier League. So when Manchester United and Liverpool clashed at Anfield, a lot of us were watching. Some of us were tweeting about the game and posting updates on Facebook . My team, Man Utd was 'destroyed' and as a good fan of the game, I congratulated Liverpool, who also happen to our bitterest rivals. Sorry, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal. I posted this tweet after the 3-1 defeat. "Congrats #Liverpool. Well played. While #Man...

Naija state of mind - Naija Boyz remix the late Da-Grin's Pon Pon (Museke)

My alter ago, Ayooluwaato Eze is back again. This time talking about Nigeria :-) The African Remix boys from Nigeria are back again! After remixing Soulja Boy's Crank that Soulja boy, Chris Brown's Kiss Kiss, Lil Wayne's Lollipop, and Beyonce's Single Ladies, they are remixing a Nigerian hip-hop classic, Pon pon pon by the famous Yoruba rapper, Da-Grin . Da-Grin passed away on Thursday, April 22. Many tributes poured his way from various Nigerian artistes, including this one called My pain which featured multiple Nigerian all-stars. Check out the lyrics for song coming soon here . As usual, the Naija Boyz are at their funniest best. They mention that they still have the Naija swagger. They make fun of children born to Nigerian parents in the US who have 'forgotten their upbringing'. The video featured a Nigerian-American kid insulting his mum and who is going to call 911. Nigerian mothers won't take that nonsense and 'go remind you why we come here...
