Thanks to conversations involving the leaders of the GhanaThink Foundation & Clean Air Fund , the #CleanAirGhana project emerged as a direct response to the severe public health crisis posed by air pollution in Ghana . The core mission of this project is multifaceted: to raise public awareness of the (health) impacts of air pollution , to drive concerted community action , and to advocate for the rigorous enforcement of existing environmental policies , and drive implementation of more solutions . With an estimated 28,000 Ghanaians succumbing to premature death annually as a direct consequence of air pollution, this project is very critical. One major question we ask in the intro format at Konnect meetups focused on #Volunteeringh is: " When did you last volunteer to help others and how? " My answer is normally: " Yesterday, or today, I gave someone a free ride ". Basically, I stop the #vimride at a stop, asked folks where they were going, and if they were going my direction, I politely asked to give them a free ride, and if they accepted, I did the needful. " Are you not afraid? " No . I do this as carefully as I can. If you are afraid for me, pray for me. Thank You .
